13 May - Mother's Day!
Different countries celebrate Mother's Day on various days of the year because the day has a number of different origins. In Ukraine and Russia they celebrate International Women Day on March, 8 and Mother's Day is celebrated in North America on the second Sunday of every May. These holidays have different histories and different origins but almost same meaning - this Day belongs to Women and Mothers! Both nations consider this day as an official holiday and the customs of this day are very similar all over the world – but in North America this is mostly the holiday honoring all mothers. In Eastern Europe this is a day for all the women – mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. In North America historically a white carnation has been considered as a symbol of Mother's Day, in Eastern Europe the symbol of this day is a red rose or a mimosa.
